    Judas Maccabaeus or Maccabeus (MAK-ə-BEE-əs), also known as Judah Maccabee (Hebrew: יהודה המכבי, romanized:&#;Yehudah HaMakabi),[a] was a Jewish priest (kohen) and a son of the priest Mattathias.
