Early Life and Education
Cordell Hull was born on October 2, 1871, in Tennessee, to a farmer and hardware merchant.

Out of five sons, he was the only one who showed a passion for education. In 1891, he graduated with a law degree from Cumberland University.
Political Career
Instead of pursuing a legal career, Hull entered politics after actively participating in political campaigns as a student.
He served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives from 1893 to 1897, briefly interrupting his political career to serve in the military during the Spanish-American War.
Congressional Legacy
From 1907 to 1931, Hull represented Tenness
